Special Edition DIY! Flags of the World Nail Art, Part 1

Hey guys!!!  So my most recent DIY is Flags of the World nail art.  This one is a little more ,well, actually a lot more, difficult than most the other ones.  There are a LOT more steps since each finger is different.  I tried to pick the easiest flags (you know, the ones with all the stripes ;D) so hopefully it won't be that bad ;)

For this DIY, you will need:

- Nail Polish:

White
Light Blue
Yellow
Black
Red
Yellow
Green
Orange
- A Nail, bobby pin, or sewing pin
- A toothpick
- Tape
- Scissors

First, you will paint a base coat on each nail.  Each color is different, depending on the flag.  Usually I put the lightest color as a base coat because then when you put darker colors on top they will show up better then putting light on dark.  *Denmark however, is an exception:  because of the WHITE cross on the RED background, I painted red first and put the white on top because it was easier.

From Right to Left, here are the names of the countries and the base coat color.
Argentina - White
Japan - White
Poland - White
Germany - Yellow
Ghana - Yellow (Hey friends in Ghana, you know who you are ;D!!!)
*Denmark - Red
Hungary - White
Ireland - White
Italy - White
Lithuania - Yellow

Ok, now I am going to go through each finger, each flag one at a time.  Each finger/flag will have step 1, step 2 etc.

ARGENTINA

Step 1 - (Your base coat should be white)  Cut a thin strip of tape and place it down the middle of your nail.  Paint your light blue on both sides, it is easiest to just paint your entire nail, the tape will keep it from messing up.
Step 2 - Pull off the tape.  Dab a little bit of yellow nail polish on to a paper plate and, using a nail, bobby pin, or sewing pin, dip it into the yellow paint then press it into the center of the middle white strip on your nail.  This will be your "sun".
Step 3 - Using the very tip of a toothpick, dab two teeny-tiny black dots on the sun for "eyes".  *on the actual Argentina flag, the sun has a face, which is kinda hard to do with nail polish ;)

Congratulations, Argentina is complete!

JAPAN

Step 1 - (Your base coat should be white)  The one step for the flag of Japan is quite simple; just use your nail, bobby pin, or sewing pin to create a medium sized circle in the center of your nail with red polish.  See, that was easy! :)

Congrats, Japan is complete!

POLAND

Step 1 - (Your base coat should be white)  Place a piece of tape over the LEFT side of your nail.  Paint the uncovered side red.
Step 2 - Pull off the tape.  Looking at you nail from a somewhat sideways view, the white should be on the top and the red should be on the bottom.

And Poland is done!

GERMANY

Step 1 - (Your base coat should be yellow)  Place a piece of tape over two-thirds of your nail, leaving the top (once again from a somewhat sideways view) uncovered.  Paint this (1/3) stripe black.
Step 2 - Peel off the tape and place it again over the yellow part of your nail, this time one-third.  If you have a really steady hand, you should be fine without taping the black, but if not, put a small piece of tape over the black too, just make sure it is super dry.  Paint the "gap" in between the black and yellow red.
Step 3 - Peel off the tape.  Looking from a sideways view, the colors should be black, red, then yellow.

You've completed Germany!

GHANA

Step 1 - (Your base coat should be yellow)  Cut a thin strip of tape and place it down the center of your nail.  Paint the top (from a sideways view) red, and the bottom green.
Step 2 - Peel off the tape.  You should have, from a sideways view, red, then yellow, then green.
Step 3 - Put a drop of black polish on a paper plate and, using the very very tip of a toothpick, put a small star in the center of the middle strip of yellow.  I did this with little bitty dots forming the star shape.

Congratulations, you've completed Ghana and the first part of Flags of the World nail art.  I have to go to bed now and I have school tomorrow but I will have Part two up by Saturday evening at the latest!!!  TTYL!
