Hey guys! Here is Part 2 for Flags of the World Nail Art.
For this DIY, you will need much of the same supplies:
- Nail Polish
White
Red
Green
Orange
Yellow
- Tape
- Scissors
First, you will paint a base coat on each nail. Each color is different, depending on the flag. Usually I put the lightest color as a base coat because then when you put darker colors on top they will show up better then putting light on dark. *Denmark however, is an exception: because of the WHITE cross on the RED background, I painted red first and put the white on top because it was easier.
Step 1 - (Your base coat should be white) Cut a piece of tape and put it on your nail covering two-thirds of it. Paint the uncovered strip red. Peel off the tape.
Step 2 - When the red is completely dry, cut another piece of tape and put it on your nail covering the red and half the white, two-thirds total. Paint the uncovered stripe green.
Step 3 - Peel off the tape. Your nail should look something like this.
Awesome job, Hungary is completed!
IRELAND *Ireland and the next flag, Italy, will be slightly different than the others. Instead of working perpendicular to your cuticle, you will be working parallel to your cuticle. Also, they are exactly the same except that one has orange on the tip and one has red. Be careful not to get them mixed up.
Step 1 - (Your base coat should be white) Cut a piece of tape and put it on your nail, covering two-thirds of it. The tape should be parallel to your cuticle and the uncovered stripe it leaves should be right next to your cuticle. Paint this "gap" green. Peel off the tape.
Step 2 - When the green is completely dry, put another piece of tape on your nail parallel to your cuticle. An area approximate to the size of the tip of your fingernail should be uncovered (1/3) Paint this tip ORANGE.
Step 3 - Peel off the tape. Your nail should look like this.
And Ireland is done!
ITALY

Congrats, Italy is done!

From Right to Left, here are the names of the countries and the base coat color.
Argentina - White
Japan - White
Poland - White
Germany - Yellow
Ghana - Yellow (Hey friends in Ghana, you know who you are ;D!!!)
*Denmark - Red
Hungary - White
Ireland - White
Italy - White
Lithuania - Yellow
Ok, now I am going to go through each finger, each flag one at a time. Each finger/flag will have step 1, step 2 etc.
DENMARK
Step 1 - (Your base coat should be red) Cut two pieces of tape and place them lenthwise down your nail, leaving a "gap" in the middle. Paint the "gap" white. In the picture, the white got on the tape some so you can't really see the "gap". Look at the last picture to get and idea of how much space you need to leave. Peel off the tape.
Step 2 - When the first white stripe is completely dry, place two more pieces of tape crosswise on your nail, making a "gap" the opposite way. Make the "gap" more towards your cuticle, when you look at it from a sideways view, the shorter stripe should be over to the side. Paint the "gap" white.
Step 3 - Peel off the tape. Your nail should look like this.
Congratulations, Denmark is done!
HUNGARY
Step 1 - (Your base coat should be white) Cut a piece of tape and put it on your nail covering two-thirds of it. Paint the uncovered strip red. Peel off the tape.
Step 2 - When the red is completely dry, cut another piece of tape and put it on your nail covering the red and half the white, two-thirds total. Paint the uncovered stripe green.
Step 3 - Peel off the tape. Your nail should look something like this.

LITHUANIA
Step 1 - (Your base coat should be yellow) Cut a piece of tape and put it on your nail covering two thirds of it. Make sure that the "gap" is on the RIGHT side. Paint the uncovered stripe red. Peel off the tape.
Step 2 - Cut another piece of tape and put it on your nail covering the LEFT side. There should be an uncovered yellow stripe in the middle. Paint this yellow stripe green. If you have a really really steady hand, you don't need to put tape over the red. However, if you don't, put a piece of tape over the red as well.
Step 3 - Peel off the tape. Your nail should look something like this.
And that completes Lithuania and Flags of the World, Part 2. Awesome job!!! I hope you enjoyed this DIY post. More coming soon!!!
